What the Double Dreamer Does

We designed the Double Dreamer to bring together our Tubedreamer and Lucydreamer overdrives in one pedal, with added flexibility and features.

It offers:

  • Three footswitches: Tubedreamer (left), Lucydreamer (right), and a shared high-gain-stage (middle)

  • A 3-way toggle to assign the high-gain-stage to either side or both

  • Internal routing dip-switches to use each side independently, in series, or in stereo setups

  • Full control over each side’s Level, Tone, and Gain, plus a Mix knob for the Lucydreamer’s clean/drive balance

  • Internal trimmers to fine-tune high-gain-stage output per side

Whether stacked, run in parallel, or used separately in a switcher, the Double Dreamer gives you a wide palette of dynamic overdrive textures, from smooth and mid-pushed to harmonically rich and saturated.

About the “Achenbach Series”:

John Achenbach is a Storyboard Artist and Animation Professional with a long history on the legendary show “The Simpsons” and a guitarist/musician. The “Achenbach Series” is the result of a loving friendship that has developed through the years out of mutual respect for what each of us does!

Here’s a short video of him talking about the story behind our collaboration:

Here’s a little insider’s look into his process for coming up with his designs, using the “Achenbach Series” Tubedreamer as an example:

“You just can’t beat nature. For inspiration, I researched the first amplifier tubes to design a JAM pedals character and found this Fleming tube from 1904. Then a friend recently posted a real pic of a virus under an electron microscope. Damn.. that’s freaky.” John Achenbach
