What the Fuzz Phrase Si Does

The Fuzz Phrase Si is our silicon-transistor version of the beloved Fuzz Phrase. We designed it to deliver the same warm, dynamic character and cleanup behavior as our original germanium model, while offering increased consistency and reliability, especially across varying temperatures.

Using hand-selected silicon transistors, the Fuzz Phrase Si retains the expressive response and vintage voice you’d expect from a top-tier fuzz, with true bypass switching and a full, harmonically rich tone that cleans up beautifully with your guitar’s volume knob.

If you’re after classic fuzz tones with modern-day dependability, the Fuzz Phrase Si was made for you.

About the “Achenbach Series”:

John Achenbach is a Storyboard Artist and Animation Professional with a long history on the legendary show “The Simpsons” and a guitarist/musician. The “Achenbach Series” is the result of a loving friendship that has developed through the years out of mutual respect for what each of us does!

Here’s a short video of him talking about the story behind our collaboration:

Here’s a little insider’s look into his process for coming up with his designs, using the “Achenbach Series” Tubedreamer as an example:

“You just can’t beat nature. For inspiration, I researched the first amplifier tubes to design a JAM pedals character and found this Fleming tube from 1904. Then a friend recently posted a real pic of a virus under an electron microscope. Damn.. that’s freaky.” John Achenbach
