What the Red Muck Bass Does
We designed the Red Muck Bass to bring the fuzz-distortion character of the Red Muck to bass players, fine-tuned to maintain low-end clarity and punch, with 2 gain stages split across 2 footswitches and a dry/wet mix knob.
Inspired by the ’71 “triangle” Muff and the later Red Army/Civil War versions, the Red Muck Bass delivers a rich, saturated sound with smooth sustain, perfect for both heavy riffing and textured, melodic playing.
If you’re looking for a powerful fuzz-distortion that keeps your bass tone full and defined, the Red Muck Bass is built for you.
About the “Achenbach Series”:
John Achenbach is a Storyboard Artist and Animation Professional with a long history on the legendary show “The Simpsons” and a guitarist/musician. The “Achenbach Series” is the result of a loving friendship that has developed through the years out of mutual respect for what each of us does!
Here’s a little insider’s look into his process for coming up with his designs, using the “Achenbach Series” Tubedreamer as an example:
“You just can’t beat nature. For inspiration, I researched the first amplifier tubes to design a JAM pedals character and found this Fleming tube from 1904. Then a friend recently posted a real pic of a virus under an electron microscope. Damn.. that’s freaky.” John Achenbach
